Adobe Reader and Acrobat "AcroPDF.dll" ActiveX Control Denial of Service

Adobe Reader and Acrobat are applications for handling PDF files. The application is exposed to a denial of service issue in the "AcroPDF.dll" ActiveX control. Successfully exploiting this issue may allow the attacker to crash the affected application that uses the ActiveX control (typically Internet explorer), denying service to legitimate users. Adobe Reader and Acrobat versions earlier than 7.1.4, 8.1.7, and 9.2 are affected by this issue.
