Free service for malware detection on websites

Qualys introduced QualysGuard Malware Detection, a free service that proactively scans web sites of any size, anywhere in the world, for malware infections and threats, and provides businesses with automated alerts and in-depth reporting for effective remediation of identified malware.

QualysGuard Malware Detection protects web sites and their visitors by:

• Conducting daily recurring scans that provide immediate insight into malware issues
• Delivering automated alerts when malware is found
• Identifying vulnerable code snippets for quick and easy removal of malware.

It minimizes false positives to a near zero rate by utilizing both static analysis and behavioral analysis to accurately identify malware while scanning. The static analysis identifies source code typically used in malicious attacks, including encoded JavaScript, web bugs, and character encoding inside of inline frames.

Behavioral analysis identifies malicious behavior that occurs upon visiting the site with an unpatched browser and operating system. It monitors the unpatched machine for suspicious behavior, such as programs being installed and started or files being written to disk.

QualysGuard Malware Detection scales to scan millions of web pages on a daily basis by using virtual machines with unpatched browsers and operating systems to identify suspicious behavior on web pages.
