ICSALabs certifies Panda Internet Security 2007

Panda Internet Security 2007, the new security suite from Panda Software aimed at home users, professionals and small businesses, has received certification in the Desktop/Server Anti-Virus Detection category from ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, for its detection of security threats in Windows XP, without returning false positives. This certification is confirmation of the quality and effectiveness of the new solution for Panda Software’s 2007 consumer range, which was launched just a few weeks ago.

Panda Internet Security 2007 detected 100% of viruses from the “in-the-wild’ list, as well as all test simples from ICSALabs, including detection of polymorphic viruses and viruses known as common infectors and which are about to be included in the Wild List.

Another certification requirement of ICSALabs is that the product must also include an administration interface that allows virus detection to be enabled or disabled, and the possibility to update the signature file via the Internet. It must also allow management of the report module, which logs all incidents such as virus detections and all actions taken.
