Visitors were very enthusiastic about the show, according to our exit polls, 90% of visitors came to look for new products, 84% were looking for new technologies and 66% were looking for new or alternative suppliers. Their comments ranged from, "Truly a gathering of the experts and an opportunity to learn" to "an invaluable and rare opportunity to meet with, interact and glean ideas from the European IT security community" and "Excellent! Virtually everything in one place, making timely comparison of similar products simple".
Claire Sellick Event Director of Infosecurity Europe said, "This year's show proves that information security is hot and at the top of organisations priorities. From talking to visitors and exhibitors, it is clear that most of the visitors who attended were knowledgeable decision makers who had an information security issue to resolve, and had come to source a solution. There was also a thirst for information on the latest security issues, which was satisfied by the seminar and keynote programme, the demand for information was so great that there was standing room only in many of the presentations. Exhibitors' stands were packed with visitors not just looking to catch up on the latest solutions, but to buy them. The demand for space for 2005 has been so great that we expanded up into the gallery level, and even with this increase nearly all of next years exhibition space has already been sold."
Sellick continued, "We also announced new Infosecurity events for the Russian and Iberian markets which have been greeted with great enthusiasm by the market. Infosecurity Moscow will run in September '04 and Infosecurity Iberia, covering Spain and Portugal will take place in Madrid in February 2005 alongside two other new Reed events, Storage Expo Iberia and Documation Iberia."
The exhibitor's response shows that it was one of the best shows ever:
"This is the fourth time Microsoft has participated in the event, both as an exhibitor and to present a number of keynote sessions and security workshops. We were impressed by the number and quality of attendees at Infosecurity this year, and found it to be a good platform to showcase our IT security initiatives to customers, partners and industry leaders." Stuart Okin - Chief Security Advisor, Microsoft Ltd
"Infosecurity 2004 quite simply surpassed all of my expectations. Visitor quality and quantity certainly wowed our sales team and we doubled our lead intake year on year. Within 90 minutes of the hottest leads being distributed we had 5 meetings booked and 4 quotations out!. The cry from the team is "can we do it again next week?" Sarah Carter, Sales & Marketing Director, HarrierZeuros.
"Infosecurity Europe 2004 proved to be a tremendous success for CyberGuard Corporation. At this years event CyberGuard introduced its new firewall concept TSP (Total Stream Protection). Also coinciding with the event was the announcement of CyberGuard's recent acquisition of webwasher AG, which brought a lot of attention to our stand. CyberGuard as an exhibitor has always found Infosecurity Europe to be a benefit from a marketing standpoint where it gets to showcase the latest and greatest products and also meet current and future customers." Andrew J. Clarke, Vice President & Managing Director, CyberGuard Europe Ltd.
"Infosecurity Europe 2004 provided us the ideal environment to launch the DTI information security breaches survey 2004. The whole launch process ran very smoothly, and we were able to explain the survey results to hundreds of press and security professionals." Chris Potter, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers
"Great improvement on previous years- more attendees, quality leads and good atmosphere." Roger Levenlagen, MD, Trend Micro UK & Ireland "Security seems to be the only growing sector in IT, Infosecurity Europe is the key event to exhibit at. Not only do I find top experts here such as Fred Cohen, Principal Analyst for Burton Group, but also the partners, resellers and most importantly customers that make this industry possible." David M. Perry, Global Director of Education, Trend Micro Inc.
