WatchGuard partners with NCP engineering for IPsec VPN access

WatchGuard announced a partnership with NCP engineering to simplify IPsec VPN access for Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X users. NCP’s remote access VPN technology is available in a new WatchGuard IPSec Mobile VPN client for the XTM family of unified threat management appliances. The solution reduces administrator setup and gives end users one-click VPN access.

The ability to simplify secure VPN connectivity for users and reduce the administrative burden for deployment is critical to productivity and corporate security. The new IPSec Mobile VPN client delivers key features including support for two-factor authentication, pre-login to Windows domains, FIPS 140-2 conformant IPsec algorithms, and a secure personal firewall.

“The addition of NCP’s universal IPsec VPN client to WatchGuard’s VPN solution means that, regardless of enterprises’ mobile devices, operating system requirements or networking infrastructure, customers can quickly and easily meet the remote access demands of their employees,” said Roger Klorese, director of product management at WatchGuard. “NCP is a leader in secure remote access technology, and our partnership with them enables us to deliver the most flexible, yet robust, VPN solutions to the market.”

The IPSec Mobile VPN client can be configured and deployed with WatchGuard profiles that are downloadable by end users for one-click remote access. Customers can purchase licenses from WatchGuard’s network of resellers worldwide, and 30-day trials will be available for download from the WatchGuard software download center after August 27th.

“WatchGuard is known for delivering best-in-class technology through its integrated security platforms, which gives the company the unique ability to deliver best-of-breed solutions to its customers,” said Patrick Oliver Graf, general manager of the Americas at NCP engineering. “Our IPsec VPN client is designed to make deployment simple, and this integration with WatchGuard’s XTM line means customers can confidently extend their security perimeters to their remote and mobile workforces.”
