Metaforic released secure cryptography solution WhiteBox
Posted on 11 July 2013.
Metaforic announced the general release of WhiteBox, a secure cryptography solution for mobile financial, conditional access, BYOD and embedded communications and payments.

Data on mobile devices is particularly vulnerable as hackers easily compromise the device environment and applications in minutes, allowing credentials to be stolen, data leaked from BYOD solutions and payment transactions to be fraudulently made.

WhiteBox is the solution for protecting this data from all types of attack, whether it is at rest, in transit or in use by the application – without using any specialised hardware. It allows you to encrypt and decrypt data without the encryption keys being exposed, allowing the secure transfer of sensitive information.

WhiteBox supports most major encryption algorithms including AES, RSA and ECDSA and is available on Android, iOS, BB10, and most major operating systems.

Neil Stewart, Metaforic CTO and co-founder, said, “Rooted and Jail-broken phones are a continual worry for business, particularly as detection of rooting and jail-breaking can be problematic and uncertain. Metaforic WhiteBox gives businesses a way to communicate securely and reliably with their employees and consumers, even when the phone is jail-broken.”
