1010data updates big data analytics platform

1010data released a new version of its cloud-based Big Data analytics platform, which improves the ability of business analysts to quickly glean insights from the largest volumes of data with its ad-hoc querying capabilities and improved report creation and sharing tools.

This release also gives IT departments more control over their Big Data cloud environment through an enhanced, purpose-built, data integration utility and a new customer administration portal.

“As companies continue to generate ever increasing volumes of data, it’s more important than ever that Big Data analytics solutions remove the technical complexity of managing and analyzing large data sets. Our goal is to empower business users to query Big Data as easily as they work in Excel,” said Sandy Steier, CEO of 1010data. “Version 6 not only builds on this mission, but it also enables more sophisticated analysis of large data. Even Markov chains, K-means clustering and logistic regressions have all been optimized to perform with Big Data for the business user.”

Some of the new features and enhancements designed to help organizations turn data into actionable insights faster, include:

User interface – 1010data’s Trillion-Row Spreadsheet interface gets new features like a progress monitor, autocomplete, and syntax highlighting.

Power Loader 2.0 – 1010data’s self-service, data-integration tool imports data faster than before, shortening time to analysis.

In-database analytics – Business analysts can create libraries of calculations and queries reducing the time it takes to develop analysis and enabling standardization of calculations across an enterprise.

Machine learning functions – New statistical functions such as logistic regression, K-means clustering, Markov chains and linear recursion have been designed to work across trillions of rows of data for the business user with no programming – or sampling – required.

Quick app builder – Developers or even business users can create applications that may be shared with others in their organization, without the usual programming effort.

New customer administration portal – IT managers can now directly manage user access.
