A hacker by the online handle "Guccifer" has apparently managed to compromise email accounts belonging to the Bush family and some of their close friends, from which he then exfiltrated photos and email messages and made them available online for everyone to peruse.

The hacked accounts belong to George H.W. Bush’s daughter, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law and family friends Willard Heminway and Jim Nantz (a well-known CBS sportcaster).

He published the private photos and emails on a compromised online account. The emails contain home addresses, cell phone numbers, and e-mail addresses for a number of Bush family members, including both former presidents, their children and their siblings.

The hacker told the editors at The Smoking Gun that he has hacked “hundreds of accounts" in the past, and that federal investigators have been after him for a good while.

Still, he doesn't seem bothered by it. “I have an old game with the [expletive] bastards inside, this is just another chapter in the game,” he said.

He didn't share details on how the managed to hack the Bush family's and friends' accounts.
