Server network virtualization acceleration technology for VXLAN implementations

Broadcom announced its NetXtreme II server network virtualization (NV) acceleration technology for VXLAN implementations, improving server performance by more than 55 percent.

Together with Broadcom's new StrataXGS Trident II Switch Series with Smart NV technology, Broadcom offers the industry's most complete end-to-end platform solution for VXLAN cloud-scale networks.

Virtualized cloud-scale networks with multiple tenants are growing at unprecedented rates while exceeding the limits of existing network architectures. VXLAN innovation addresses this need by decoupling the physical and logical address space through the creation of overlay networks.

Broadcom has revolutionized the ability to scale multi-tenant networks with VXLAN, enabling logical, software-based networks that can be created on demand and increase the scale of virtual machines on the physical server while maintaining Quality of Service (QoS).

Through VMware's collaboration with Broadcom and other leading ecosystem vendors, VXLANs are expected to become the default standard for multi-tenant cloud-scale networks.
