Trusecure Launches Authorized Training Partner Program, Licenses It Training Centers To Provide TICSA Certification

TruSecure Recognizes the First Centers to Earn TruSecure ICSA Certified Security Associate (TICSA) Practitioner Certification Training License

HERNDON, Va., October 28, 2002–TruSecure(R) Corporation, a leading security services provider, today announced the TruSecure Authorized Training Partner Program, which recognizes leading training organizations that have met the stringent licensing requirements to teach the TruSecure ICSA Certified Security Associate (TICSA) practitioner certification information security curriculum. The first training centers licensed as part of this program include Intense School, Ahead Training, GuruTech Academy and The Training Camp.

TICSA, a security certification for the computer network practitioner, represents the industry’s most practical, vendor-neutral measurement of proficiency and growth. The Certification is designed to validate and improve foundation-level information security skills for network and computer administrators and other technology-auditing specialists.

“TruSecure is one of the most trusted names in information security, and we are thrilled to be Charter Members of the TruSecure Authorized Training Partner program,” said Intense School’s CTO Barry Kaufman. “We know our IT Professional clients exploring a future in information security will be proud to receive training on TruSecure’s security methodologies and will strive to achieve TICSA Certification. We believe that the TICSA Certification is a great direction for anyone who wants to work in IT security.”

TruSecure’s Authorized Training Partner program recognizes that a training center has been authorized and licensed, guaranteeing students that the center has incorporated the TruSecure philosophy and methodology into their curriculum. Authorized training centers are staffed by TICSA or CISSP certified trainers in good standing.

“We are excited to be one of the first TruSecure Authorized Training Partners. By working together, we can provide our students access to TruSecure’s highly-regarded methodology and Essential Practices which will help them solidify their foundation-level information security skills which are in demand today,” said Peggy Benning, president of Ahead Training. “The education community has a huge void in providing the information security training which is sorely needed in IT departments. The TruSecure Authorized Training Partner program enables us to help close that gap.”

With respect to working with TruSecure, Ms. Benning added, “TruSecure has an excellent reputation in the information security field. We are excited to work with them on this new endeavor.”

Authorized Training Partners will be licensed each year by TruSecure and teach a curriculum that includes 24 hours of IT security course work and incorporates the 14 categories of Essential Body of Knowledge (EBK) established by TruSecure. These 14 categories include:

– Malicious Code Fundamentals
– Host- and Network-based Security
– Risk Management and Essential Practices
– Design and Configuration Fundamentals
– Law, Ethics and Policy Issues
– TCP/IP Security Fundamentals
– Firewall and Router Fundamentals
– Detection and Incident Response Fundamentals

“TruSecure’s Authorized Training Partner program ensures training centers that they are raising the bar for network security administrators, while increasing their visibility and credibility as an authorized TICSA training center,” said Bob Flinton, director of product marketing, TruSecure Corporation. “This new program will benefit network security specialists as it demonstrates that they have the required level of knowledge and ability to be successful in today’s demanding security environment.”

In addition to fundamental security knowledge, TICSA Certification incorporates TruSecure’s methodology of security and risk management, concentrating on the “essential” versus “best” practices, to ensure that baseline approaches have been adequately researched and implemented. Earlier in the year, TruSecure contracted with Global Knowledge (http://www.globalknowledge.com), the world’s largest independent provider of IT education and training solutions, to be the first recognized TICSA training provider. Global Knowledge currently maintains the exclusive “Certified” training title.
