SANS gets ready for Amsterdam
SANS Secure Europe, one of the region’s largest infosec training events is returning to Amsterdam’s Radisson Blu Hotel from 9th-21st May with 2 weeks of technical, hands-on and in-depth information security courses across a wide range of disciplines. SANS is offering a 250 Euro discount to students who register for the event by the 30th of March 2011.
“We are running the always popular and high demand classes such as SEC401: SANS Security Essentials Bootcamp Style and SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking,” explains Gareth Dance, Manager for SANS EMEA, “But we are also giving people the chance to attend classes that we might not very often offer in the region such as VoIP security and Wireless Ethical Hacking.”

SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploits and Ethical Hacking with Stephen Sims

The format of SANS Secure Europe offers the student a unique training opportunity; “By running Amsterdam over 2 weeks, we can include classes that logically follow on from one another so students can register for both at the same event,” notes Dance. “For example, SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking can be followed by SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing course for a richer, more intense learning experience.”
Other organizations applaud the extended format so that multiple employees can benefit from training without them being away from the office at the same time.
Many of the courses planned for SANS Secure Europe 2011 have sold out in other venues around the world. “Early registrations help us to size our event correctly and potentially expand courses that we can see are proving extremely popular,” explains Dance. “We hate to turn students away due to over-subscribed classrooms.”
