About the author

Ido Dubrawsky (CISSP, CCNA, CCDA) is the Chief Security Advisor for Microsoft’s Communication Sector North America, a division of the Mobile and Embedded Devices Group. He has worked in the systems and network administration field for almost 20 years.

Divided into clear-cut, logically well-defined chapters, the various subjects are tackled in a concise, no-frills manner.

Every chapter begins by summarizing the most important concepts and issues, peppering the text with an occasional tip on how to learn better or on which things to concentrate if you’re pressed for time, and warnings about details that you could get confused about or things you should know but are not included in the book.

“Fast Fact” and “Crunch Time” sections are dedicated to short definitions of crucial elements and to a succinct enumeration and explanation of steps required to make something happen.

The chapters end with a summary of exam objectives and a set of top 5 toughest questions complete with short and to the point answers, which can help you think as a problem solver.

Final thoughts

I can definitely see this book as a great way to review all the things you have learned. But, what I was really thinking as I was reading it is this: “What a good book for someone who has been interested in computer and cyber security for a while, but is still failing to grasp the big picture!”

Every major issue and notion is covered in this book – and a lot of minor ones. It is extremely easy to read. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was the only book you have to read about security, but it could be a good place to start – alongside being a good place to finish studying for the exam.
