In 1988 Eva Chen was installing software at a customer’s office when she found a computer virus.

The discovery of the bug was a pivotal moment for Chen. Just a few months earlier she had resigned from her job at PC manufacturer Acer to co-found copyright protection software firm Trend Micro, with her brother-in-law Steve Chang.
