Lawmaker doesn't rule out cybersecurity regulation

A key U.S. lawmaker focused on cybersecurity said Tuesday he prefers to stay away from new government regulations to ensure Internet safety, but he didn't rule them out, either.

Both the U.S. government and private companies haven't focused enough attention on cybersecurity, said Representative Dan Lungren, chairman of the House Economic Security, Infrastructure Protection and Cybersecurity Subcommittee.
