Microsoft exploit code hits the web

Exploit code has started appearing on hacking websites for a critical Microsoft flaw less than three days after the patch was released.

The patch (MS05-039) addresses a flaw in the Windows Plug-and-Play system, which automatically recognises and configures devices as they are plugged in to the computer.

The code redirects visitors to another URL where the Fiesta exploit kit is hosted, which then tries to detect and exploit several vulnerabilities in various software. If it succeeds, the visitors are saddled with a banking Trojan.
