Vendors compete for hacker zero days

Competition has come to the vulnerability research market, with 3Com Corp yesterday saying it will pay independent security researchers for their zero-day vulnerabilities.

For the last few years, that market, if you exclude criminal enterprise, has been the exclusive domain of iDefense Inc, which was acquired by VeriSign Inc a week ago.
