How to deal with pushy security vendors

Thursday, 30 June 2005, 2:32 AM EST

I find myself feeling disturbed this month. Why? Because of security vendors that don't know how to tone down the hype.

I realize we all have jobs to do. Whether you are a CEO, a network administrator, a security analyst or a vice president of operations, it's critical to keep the company moving forward. Clients and revenue -- that's what we hear about in order to keep companies alive. You can't get past the news anymore without seeing topics that are influencing companies to protect sensitive data or personally identifiable information.
