Twelve arrested in British swoop on Net child porn

Twelve people were arrested yesterday after police raided 17 homes across Britain as part of a five-month investigation into child pornography on the Internet.

A 15-year-old boy from south London was also questioned, and computer equipment seized from his house.

Eight police departments took part in the operation, code-named Pilham, which targeted individuals suspected of using the internet to spread pornographic images of children, police spokesman Chris Bradford said.

Computer equipment was seized in all cases and was being examined.
