Phishing sites on the rise

The number of phishing sites reported to the Anti-Phishing Working Group has risen by 28 percent each month from July to November this year, the group says in its latest Phishing Attack Trends Report.

A total of 1518 active phishing sites were reported in November, most of which were hosted in the United States. Fifty-one barnds were covered in all but 80 percent of the attempts at phishing were targeted at six brands.

Chrome extension thwarts user profiling based on typing behavior

Infosec consultant Paul Moore came up with a working solution to thwart a type of behavioral profiling. The result is a Chrome extension called Keyboard Privacy, which prevents profiling of users by the way they type by randomizing the rate at which characters reach the DOM.
