Security issues stain BlackBerry

The routing of traffic through an email server in Canada appears to be a key to security restrictions imposed this month on government use of BlackBerry devices by communications security watchdog the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD), according to an expert familiar with the mobile communications device's network.

According to a Commonwealth security manual, special care must be taken if transferring security-classified information overseas.
