Lightweight RFID framework

This article provides an overview of a lightweight version that is separate from existing IT and can enhance inventory and access control at relatively low cost and easy maintenance.

RFID is a technology whose adoption is still in its infancy phase. While developments in the technology continue advancing with larger memory capacity, speedier processing velocities, broader ranges for reading tags, and decreasing costs due to economies of scale and materials reduction, an RF tag's integrated circuit will probably never be as cost-effective as a bar code.
