The building blocks of a customized security service
When overburdened IT managers look to providers for help with WAN services, the answer is too often "My way or the highway." Not that AT&T, MCI, or Verizon wouldn't be happy to consult on, implement, and manage the service once a particular package is chosen, but these packages are all preset based on the provider's network and profit model, not IT's business case. Tiered platinum, gold, and silver packages based on QoS levels and preset feature options can force IT to buy an expensive higher-end package just to get one particular feature.
