AppGate receives more VC

VPN vendor AppGate received its second venture capital investment this year, with $2.5 million in new funding, the company said yesterday.

AppGate delivers what it calls application-layer VPN functionality, providing security within a legacy network as well as in remote access or Web applications. The company's most recently launched products include the Junis PowerBox and Fortimus PowerBox, for small-to-medium and large enterprises, respectively.
