Microsoft endorsement pleases security software developer

Cloakware Corp. has attracted several major clients who are using its security software.

Most don't want their names publicized for fear it might provoke attacks -- a strategy that hasn't helped the small Kanata company publicize its operations.

But yesterday, Microsoft Corp. stepped out of the shadows to announce it is using Cloakware technology to ensure that people who download music and other content actually pay for it.

Chrome extension thwarts user profiling based on typing behavior

Infosec consultant Paul Moore came up with a working solution to thwart a type of behavioral profiling. The result is a Chrome extension called Keyboard Privacy, which prevents profiling of users by the way they type by randomizing the rate at which characters reach the DOM.
