TruSecure updates security-compliance manager

Tuesday, 8 June 2004, 10:08 AM EST

Security vendor TruSecure on Monday unveiled Risk Commander 2.0, a set of software tools that does double duty by measuring how effectively IT defenses are working, as well as helping companies demonstrate compliance with the blizzard of regulations and guidelines.

TruSecure is after the largest companies with Risk Commander, said Bryan Gernert, the senior vice president of sales and marketing, because they need the most help proving to regulators and others--including customers and partners--that their internal controls comply with ever-evolving rules and regulations.

Two of the nation's 10 largest banks have already begun testing Risk Commander 2.0, and TruSecure is pointing the software at the Fortune 1000 firms that make up about half of the Herndon, Va.-based firm's customers.
