Many products and services - often new and relatively untested in enterprise markets - aim to help corporations deal with the security and connectivity issues remote workers face. But applied judiciously, current technologies go a long way to address concerns about remote setups.

Virtual private networks (VPN) have become the most popular way to tie remote workers into the enterprise network, providing secure remote access at a reasonable cost.
