Security task force to CEOs: make improvement, or else

A computer industry task force working on cybersecurity with the Homeland Security Department urged top corporate management to initiate robust security measures now or face possible regulation on the issue later.
In a report released Monday, the task force recommended that executives -- as distinct from IT management -- integrate information security governance (ISG) into their existing corporate governance efforts.

“The Corporate Governance Task Force believes that ISG efforts will be most successful if conducted voluntarily, instead of mandated by government,” the report states.
