Integrated Device Technology has enhanced its RC32365 Interprise integrated communications processor with an integrated hardware accelerated Internet Protocol security (IPsec) engine, resulting in a 20% frequency improvement over the original speed.

In addition, IDT has released significant optimisations of its software support for the processor.

The RC32365 processor now achieves an overall frequency of up to 180MHz with 70Mbit/s of IPsec throughput, better enabling the device to satisfy the growing need for performance in the small and medium enterprise (SME), small office/home office (SOHO), residential gateway and wireless access markets by enabling greater system throughout and IPsec acceleration.
