Internet security: the top 10 online blunders

With over 10 years experience of defending against Internet security threats, I've pretty much seen it all. Throughout my career I've dealt with just about every end-user mistake, error and cock-up that you could imagine. Unfortunately, the practical world of business is a distant cry from my early experiences of information security studying at Royal Holloway College, recognised to be one of the leading colleges in the field of IT security.

Here are a few of the most common Internet security blunders I come across.

Compromised cPanel "Account Suspended" pages redirect to exploit kit

The code redirects visitors to another URL where the Fiesta exploit kit is hosted, which then tries to detect and exploit several vulnerabilities in various software. If it succeeds, the visitors are saddled with a banking Trojan.
