Touting a preventive approach to network security, nCircle Network Security introduced new features to its IP360 Network Exposure Management system. Enhancements to IP360 include the capability to block traffic to vulnerable devices, the ability to evaluate network hosts from multiple perspectives, and improved monitoring features.

In contrast to intrusion-detection systems that tell IT managers what is being done to compromise systems, network exposure management shows where the exposures are and how to prevent attacks, according to Richard Seirsen, UI engineer at nCircle in San Francisco.
