Lack of trust holds back security

If you believe the hype, more and more companies terrified by the prospect of electronic attack will turn to third parties to help defend their businesses.

New figures predict that security services will grow by 25 per cent per year which, although a considerable figure, belies the fact that the market itself is still relatively small.

The reasons for this are many, but Philip Virgo, strategic advisor to the Institute for the Management of Information Systems, said that uncertainty over the relevance and reliability of many products and services on the market, is one.
