Microsoft toolkit helps build more secure web services

Microsoft announced the release of a technology preview of the next version of its free toolkit for developers building Web services, Microsoft Web Services Enhancements 2.0.

WSE 2.0 features new security features for helping developers build more secure Web services that transcend enterprise boundaries to exchange information with customers and partners, the company said.

In fact, WSE 2.0 builds on the security, routing and attachment capabilities of WSE 1.0, yet it adds support for additional specifications such as WS-Security, WS-Policy, WS-SecurityPolicy, WS-Trust, WS-SecureConversation and WS-Addressing, company officials said.
