Defcom goes titsup

London-based information security consultancy Defcom has been placed in administrative receivership.

A representative of the company confirmed that administrative receivers had been appointed to run its business but declined to answer our subsequent questions over the phone. He said the company needed to receive questions by fax. We've sent over a list of questions and will update you if and when Defcom responds.

Defcom Information Security Ltd was set up in the UK in April 2002 as a result of a management buyout by the London office of Defcom AB. The london offices of Defcom AB were set up in 1999.

Defcom specialised in offering security consulting and penetration testing services. According to its Web site Defcom's clients included "30 companies from blue chip financial institutions and energy conglomerates to IT security service providers themselves".
