The infosec matrix
"I've seen an agent punch through a concrete wall. Men have emptied entire clips at them and hit nothing but air. Yet their strength and their speed are still based in a world that is built on rules. Because of that, they will never be as strong or as fast as you can be."
If you don't recognize this quote, it's a soliloquy from The Matrix, when Morpheus (Laurence Fishburn) explains to Neo (Keanu Reeves) that the agents guarding the digital reality ("the Matrix") are vulnerable because they are bound by limitations inherent in computational reasoning.
For those of you who haven't seen the movie, you'll get a chance to experience it with this month's release of the sequel--The Matrix Reloaded. The Matrix is an interactive, real-time simulation of human life. Maintained by self-aware supercomputers, the digital realm enslaves humanity as a power source by keeping the earth's population sedated in a virtual reality.
Or, as Morpheus said, "What is the Matrix? Control."
