Security outfits unleash offerings at RSA

Vulnerability management, integration, and authentication technologies will dominate the discussion as a host of security vendors descend on the RSA Conference in San Francisco this week.

IBM, Sun, Symantec, Computer Associates, Internet Security Systems, and Network Associates will join RSA to tackle issues such as locating and mitigating enterprise security vulnerabilities.

Enterprises are demanding automated services to deal with the manual complexities of the technology, said Eric Hemmendinger, research director of information security at Boston-based Aberdeen Group.

"This is a huge expenditure for organizations," Hemmendinger said.
