Mac turns security guard

A Mac video motion-detection package has been released as a home-and-office security solution.

Ben Bird's SecuritySpy 1.0b15 is a video-surveillance solution for Macs that works with any Mac-compatible video input device, and is capable of capturing and displaying simultaneous live video from multiple cameras.

It offers highly optimized motion detection - the software automatically captures movies and images when motion is detected. Motion-detection sensitivity can be adjusted, and video is captured in QuickTime format.

The solution is capable of uploading captured images to remote computers and Web sites using FTP, and of sending email notification of motion sensed with images attached. SecuritySpy time-stamps the images it catches.
