Port80 Software Surveys Top 1000 Corps' Web Servers
Port80 Software conducted a survey of the 1000 leading corporations' Web sites and discovered Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Server, their Web server software) commands a strong 54% market share in the race for Web server dominance.
Microsoft's lead among the Fortune 1000 casts a different light on the popular Netcraft Web Server Survey, which typically shows a total 60% market share for the Apache Web server and purports that Microsoft IIS hovers at a 26-30% market share.
