US grapples with cybersecurity

A key US homeland security official, appearing in Washington on 1 October at the kickoff of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, took the opportunity to outline the government's priorities for securing cyberspace.

Greg Garcia, assistant secretary for cybersecurity and communications at the US Department of Homeland Security, told his audience that his number one priority was securing US federal government systems.
