Oracle plan to tackle security

Oracle is planning to build a data centre outside the US in response to growing concerns from local companies over information protection.

Oracle Australia-Pacific customer relationship management vice-president Simon Banks said some clients, particularly in the financial services sector, were concerned that information may be in breach of other countries' legislation, such as the US PATRIOT Act.
