Cybercrime is an issue that every IT manager will confront at some point, either directly or indirectly. In some cases, it’s an isolated identity theft concerning one employee. In other instances, it’s a hostile takeover of a company Web site that can affect product branding and influence customer trust. The worst scenarios involve a breach into company financial data that results in a federal investigation and complex criminal proceedings. Being ready for these intrusions is almost as important as dealing with them as they occur because it makes the process much more fluid within the organization.
