V.I. Labs adds snooping to antipiracy product

Antipiracy tools vendor V.I. Laboratories Inc. has joined forces with Internet Crimes Group Inc. (ICG) to offer software developers and enterprise IT shops a way to keep track of criminals who are illegally publishing their software.

Using a service that integrates ICG's offering into V.I.'s CodeArmor, software developers will be able to make their code harder for pirates to crack.

The code redirects visitors to another URL where the Fiesta exploit kit is hosted, which then tries to detect and exploit several vulnerabilities in various software. If it succeeds, the visitors are saddled with a banking Trojan.
