How to import saved Firefox passwords into KeePass

The two places I store my ever-lengthening list of passwords are 1.) a KeePass database and 2.) in Firefox's password manager.

However, moving your passwords between those two apps isn't easy or obvious. If you want to export your Firefox passwords to KeePass, you can do so - with a few plugins, a script, a little Java and some XML elbow grease. Still with me?
