Detecting sensitive data at rest with Nessus

Tenable Network Security has released a new Nessus plugin named "Windows File Contents Check" (plugin ID #24760). It is available in the Nessus Direct Feed and has the ability to find a wide variety of sensitive data at rest on Windows computers. This blog entry details how the checks work and Nessus Direct Feed users can benefit from them. This new plugin is also supported in Security Center 3.2.1 which is covered in a separate blog entry.
