What firewall rules?

As I prepare to do an audit of my own firewall rules, I'd like to remind everyone that this is a must-do annual exercise for your networks. When I do this, I start with some basic questions:

* What ingress filters am I using?
* What egress filters am I using?
* Do these match my policies?

Then I dig deeper to see what is really going on under that hood (or case). To make sure that we are all on the same page, I offer simple definitions for ingress and egress filters.
