Microsoft prepares 8 January patches

Microsoft is preparing to issue 8 security bulletins next Tuesday during the firm's monthly patch release cycle.

Each bulletin covers an application component, and spans one or multiple security vulnerabilities.

Three of the bulletins affect the Windows operating system, at least one of which is rated critical. The vendor also plans to issue three bulletins for its Microsoft Office suite of productivity applications with at least one rated critical.
