Identity theft counter tops 100,000,000

More than 100m individuals have had personal information breached since early 2005 in the US alone according to an overview that is published by the Privacy Rights Clearninghouse.

The counter passed the 100m mark on Wednesday when Boeing admitted that it had lost a laptop containing confidential information including social security numbers for 382,000 current and former employees.
