Stolen laptops illustrate need to secure remote data

The recent loss of laptops from Nationwide Building Society that contained customer information, and from LogicaCMG that held Metropolitan Police payroll information has again highlighted the importance of securing remote data. Indeed, as the use of laptops and wireless technologies increases, organizations need to implement security policies for both their mobile users and their devices.
