Windows Mobile security software attains FIPS validation

Trust Digital says its mobile security software has received FIPS 140-2 validation from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for Windows Mobile 5.0. The company claims to be the only vendor with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) validated software for Windows Mobile 5.

According to Trust, the FIPS validation program ensures that cryptographic modules are designed, developed, and rolled out using acceptable security practices.
