RIM device would thwart thieves

Fresh off launching a new BlackBerry model that features video and camera capabilities, Canadian wireless company Research In Motion may soon have a new offering: a wireless device that aims to thwart thieves and ease the minds of those who are prone to misplacing their handheld units.

Research In Motion Ltd. is developing a portable wireless communications device that the company says would boast a so-called "pickpocket notification."
