'Anti-spyware' Trojan hits 100,000 UK firms

An email claiming to originate from an anti-spyware company is being used to spread a new Trojan downloader, security experts warned today.

BlackSpider Technologies said that the email is a classic example of social engineering.

The code redirects visitors to another URL where the Fiesta exploit kit is hosted, which then tries to detect and exploit several vulnerabilities in various software. If it succeeds, the visitors are saddled with a banking Trojan.
